Poll #935751 Dilemma

You're in the office, it's well past lunch time, and you're starving. It's pouring rain. The closest restaurant to the office is McDonalds. Do you:

Maximize dryness and eat McDonalds
14(33.3%)
Walk farther and therefore get wetter
20(47.6%)
Starve
8(19.0%)

Just don't do it all the time, but Maccas is ok sometimes, specially when you're starving. But I don't get the meal deals, just a Big Mac or a quarter pounder. No chips. And a coffee.

My fave is still the hotcakes, but I'm not often out and about before 10am to get them before breakfast closes.

I 2nd this suggestion. Or if there is a Vietnamese place that delivers, order some Pho. Pho on a rainy day is nice.

I'd say "Eww!" but McDonald's will do in a pinch. Especially when it's wet outside.

I am an Oregonian, if only by dint of 35 years living here. Water will not melt me.

McDonalds has really upgraded their "reasonable food to eat" choices - salads with grilled chicken aren't like *great* but they're fine. It's not like you have to eat badly there.

Can I Supersize it?

I did have a salad once or twice and it was okay. I guess it just seems ridiculous to go to McDonalds for a salad, but in the situation described here, I guess that might be one of those times.

It would depend on how much farther real food was, how much time I really had for the expedition + drying out, and how bad the hypoglycemia was getting. I know what I'm like on no food. "Starving" at work is not an option.

Fast food is bad for you (and everyone), and McDonald's is the devil, but there is a fine line between being healthy and outright snobbery. Eat there once in a (great) while and move on.

Ordering a pizza or having something delivered seems extravagant to me, and I hate getting stuck in heavy rain.

It is just one meal and this will give more impetus for eating very well at dinner time.

I hate dilemmas such as these. May I suggest stocking up on some breakfast bars or tuna fish salad kits so you another choice if this happenens again? Bowl of fresh fruit to munch on throughout the week, perhaps?
