I'm commuting on the big motorcycle right now.

Today I went out at lunch to run errands. As I was turning a sharp corner in a parking lot, someone walked out in front of me. I grabbed the brake a little bit too hard and then couldn't quite catch the bike when it started going over. I wound up sitting in the parking lot with the bike on my right foot. Ouch!

Luckily, there were plenty of people around and a couple of them immediately righted the bike. I thanked them, did a quick damage inspection, hopped on, started it again, and rode away. It was actually quite minor, just annoying.

The bike is fine except for a couple of scratches on the (already banged up) top case. My foot is the tiniest bit sore, but not even enough for me to limp. My ego... a bit bruised.

Yay for people right there and willing to help! Glad you're okay. ::kisses:: to the sore ego.

Ugh. That's one of my fears: falling over and getting a foot stuck underneath something, probably a searingly hot muffler, and not being able to escape. Glad it turned out ok for you. And really glad folks were around to help get the bike back up.

The one time when I fell over under throttle (not in the driveway or parking lot but creeping thru a murderous hairpin turn), I discovered that the embarassment of falling over while riding with my motorcycle club was far outweighed by the convenience of having 5 guys available to get the bike back on the road. My arm was damaged too much to be very useful (soft tissue damage that completely negated any power in my shoulder) and it took 4 guys holding the bike upright while one sat on it to drive it as they rolled it the rest of the way down the hill and then got it back up to the road. I had the misfortune of falling down a hill.

So glad you fell over in a parking lot with lots of folks around and that you're ok. Egos heal up very nicely and usually much faster than sore shoulders and feet. :)

As those things go, that's the way they should go. Glad nothing vital of anyone involved were squashed beyond recognition!
