Thanks for the good words, everyone. I have a couple of really minor dings, but I'm OK. When the tow guy was here, I took a bunch of pictures of the damage to the bike, and where it happened.

I also took pictures of my injuries, and the (relatively minor) damage to my gear. I'm still not sure how I skinned my knee without tearing my pants. Note that the scratches are all along the face plate. If I ever catch my friends riding in anything other than a full-face helmet, I will be grumpy.

Glad you are basically OK.

I don't ride motorcycles, but I had a fairly big crash on a mountain bike about 15 years ago where I ruined a helmet. It's easier to buy a new helmet than a new brain.

Glad to hear you're ok. Your recent motorcycle karma seems unfortunate. Run over any puppies recently?

Rugburn through the gear sucks, but it happens. Still better than when I went down hitting gravel on a u-turn and the elbow padding missed by 1".

Get well quick.

Yeah I cannot see riding a motorcycle without proper protection i.e. head gear and other protective clothing. I have already lost one friend from not wearing a helmet (when CA didn't have it's current helmet law) and I would hate to lose another!

Amen to the full-face helmets, thank you very much. I plan to work with adults eventually, and I don't need my friends anywhere near my caseload.

In January, I fell getting out of the car and banged up my knees. My right knee STILL has a mark on it, and yet I didn't tear my jeans. Strange.

I'm glad you're OK!

Glad you're mostly OK, and that you were wearing proper safety gear.
