I just got off the phone with the Triumph dealer-- the estimate for repair is around $4K. In addition to all of the plastic and small-metal-part damage, I also bent the frame that holds the headlight and bent the radiator. Poor Booh!

Sympathies. It's shocking how much all that plastic crap costs. I dropped my V-Strom shortly after I got it and those few little scratches in the plastic would have been over $1k to repair/replace. Since I had a high deductible, I said the hell with it and just rode it as-is.

Yikes that is a pretty big bill but I am just glad you were not hurt seriously. Today on the way to work I saw a really bad car/motorcycle accident where I am really not sure if the motorcyclist made it. He was laying on the road motionless with at least one witness trying to give him some sort of first aid. It just happened as there weren't any EMTs or cops around yet...
