And in the spirit of not being a suburbanite, I just walked downstairs to Chop Bar and got a sausage popover and citrus ginger agua fresca. I love being able to get to an excellent restaurant without even leaving my building.

P.S. If anyone wants to follow the Chop Bar blog, I've added it as a feed here: chopbar

Is this a new restaurant rising from the ashes of the old one, or did the old one not ever die?

New restaurant in the same space. The last one died in October of last year. This one has a much better chance of success, since it's more attuned to the neighborhood. At $12-15 for a dinner entree, I can easily imagine myself eating dinner there a couple of times a week. It's also good and reasonably-priced breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch.

I can get an excellent meal without leaving my building. I just have to cook it.
