Hmm. I got 2 and 4 easily. 1 fell to a Google search. But I don't get 3 at all...

Filmed in San Francisco, features a cello, Virginia Madsen, and a drunken computer.

Ahh. Some IMDB searching and I think I recognize that one. Never saw it; the other 3 I have.

And a bitchin' soundtrack. Jeff Lynne, Boy George, Giorgio Moroder, Heaven 17... Classic early 80's.

And a fairly awesome Cello piece at that. I have it on my ipod. "Sir, let me take this moment to compliment you on your fashion sense. Particularly, your slippers." I've actually never seen the movie for #2, but #1 was bog stupid easy.

If it's the cello piece I'm thinking of, it's an abomination-- they took a nice waltz and performed it in 4/4 time.

Other than that it's excellent.

You would think that this would be right up my alley, but as it turns out, I've only seen one of the movies, and apparently I don't remember it very well.

I've seen two of the movies, but only got one of the references in the list without help. I've never heard of #3. I've also been told I lead an exceedingly sheltered life, cinematically speaking.

I knew #1 and #2 immediately. Took a minute to remember what #4 was from. No idea about #3.

BTW there was an awesome scene when the math WSOP house was watching #1 a couple years ago. There's a scene where the female lead says "Unreal," to something. Three of us on the couch simultaneously said "So sick," in response

I know and have seen numbers 2 and 4.

And I'm guessing that I know and have seen number 3 based on slamonella's track listing, as the title track likely shows up in a few Human League greatest hits albums. (Loved the movie, even, and really particularly like the title song.)

Number 1 currently stumps me.

I'm apparently just not geeky enough to recognize what #1 was even though I'm quite fond of that movie. Don't know #3.

Pop culture minutiae is apparently not my forte. I've seen 3/4 but recognized (only guessingly) #2.

I scanned the list, got 4 immediately, 2 shortly thereafter, had to think hard about 1, and still don't know what 3 is, but I'm going to look it up now.

I found it and am intrigued, but just like me, Netflix has apparently never heard of it.

I got all 100 answers, thanks to the fact that Electric Dreams was soundtracked by E.L.O. (one of my fave 70's bands) and starred Virginia Madsen, a twenties crush of mine after this film, Dune, and "Creator". The other 3 were gimmes. "Real Genius" is pure genius, Val Kilmer and William Atherton at their best.
