Big deal, you say? If so, you don't know me very well.
When I was in my mid-teens, I found myself sitting idly in front of the TV, remote in hand, flipping through channels. Suddenly I realized that I wasn't actually watching TV, I was just staring at it, and that I wasn't really enjoying it. I hit the power switch, and to a first approximation I haven't watched TV since. That's twenty five years without the box.
Have I lost my mind? Well, that remains to be seen, but my motivation is to watch televised poker. I bought a Tivo too, and I'm pretty much guaranteed not to wind up a couch potato.
