I picked the Harlot up from MotoJava a few minutes ago. She's running pretty damned well for a fifteen-year-old bike that was garaged and ignored for the last two years.
So it's been more than two years since I've been on a motorcycle. It would be nice to start off on some nice quiet streets, right? It's a great theory. The bike shop is at the corner of 9th and Bryant, and the intersection includes a major freeway offramp. Out of the shop and into the fire I went. I managed to make it back to the office without mishap, and I even managed to evade the moron who made an illegal left turn in front of me as I turned a corner.
She needs tires something fierce-- the rear is an embarrassment. And then I get to ride!
