Today I spotted the news story, Oakland still awaits giant cranes. Apparently we're getting two more, and they haven't been able to get under the bridges because of large swells. They're currently anchored just off the coast, and the current schedule has them coming under the golden gate bridge at around 11:30 tomorrow, and under the bay bridge around 1 p.m. They generally shut down bay bridge traffic as the cranes pass underneath, since that gives them about two feet more clearance.
What I'm really curious about is how they're unloaded. Maybe I'll go watch.
