Just before the self-checkout line, I spotted a standing display of a new product, and it seemed to feature chocolatey goodness. I stopped to look.
It was Betty Crocker Warm Delights. Check it out! Basically, it's a single-serving dessert that consists of a bowl, a packet of mix (brownie, cake, cookie), and a packet of sauce. You add a little bit of water to the mix, nuke it for 30 seconds, then squeeze the sauce on top of the hot gooey dish. It came in five flavors-- Hot Fudge Brownie, Molten Chocolate Cake, Molten Caramel Cake, Fudgy Chocolate Chip Cookie and Cinnamon Swirl Cake.
I shook my head at the excesses of prepared food, but then curiousity got the better of me. I tossed a Fudge Brownie bowl on top of the canned corn and peaches. I never buy mixes for anything, but I was willing to make a one-off exception.
Bottom line: How bad can a hot gooey chocolate thing be? It was pretty tasty. And 370 calories! Yikes! I wouldn't buy it again, but it was worth the experiment.
