Tonight's dinner: seafood risotto made with scallops, shrimp, and the lobster demi-glace I bought yesterday. Very tasty.

When I make risotto I inevitably wind up with goop all over the stove-- rice in all four burners, plus sauce that spilled over the side of the pan as I was stirring. As I was cleaning it tonight, I realized that my old housemates (not all of them, just the annoying subset) would have just left the goop there until it burned on, and then somebody else in the house would have had the pleasure of scrubbing it off.

I don't miss living with them... not one bit.
