Yay for heading home
I love London, I truly do. If I were to ever leave San Francisco, it would be my first choice of destinations. And I love traveling. Still, going home always makes me happy. I like sleeping in my own bed, being surrounded by my own things, having currency that I recognize and handle by instinct, automatically looking the right way when I cross the street, and having my friends around. OK, I had friends around on this trip, but it's not the same. I even sort of miss my job.
I'm currently sitting in the Star Alliance lounge at Heathrow. This is the first time I've flown international first class, and lemme tell you... I could get spoiled by it. I have wifi, a comfy lounge, and an array of food and drink at my disposal including enough beer and liquor to make an ADB plead for mercy.
What I don't have, however, is an ethernet cable. I could not find one for sale anywhere in the departure lounge-- the only store that carries them was sold out. Why do I care? I have internet access on the Frankfurt to San Francisco leg of the trip. Could you resist twittering from over Greenland?
