OnTrac idiots, round two

The other day I wrote about horrible service from OnTrac, and the fact that their website was lying about a delivery. It gets better.

This morning when I got out of the shower, I had a five minute voicemail message that turned out to be nothing but on-hold music. I looked up the phone number, and it was OnTrac. Cute.

They called again while I was on my way to work. "Hi, I have a note here that you can't find a package that was delivered." Well, actually no, but the package was delivered a day late because the driver reported that nobody was home at my office.

"Oh, OK."

Do you have the tracking info handy? It says that it was delivered at 3:58 p.m., and then at 9:30 at night it says the package will be delivered the next day. 3:58 was actually when the driver reported nobody home. The package showed up on the 27th.

"I see. OK, I'll update this information."

Oh, and by the way... you guys called this morning and left me five minutes of on-hold music as voicemail.

"That wasn't me, but I apologize anyway. That shouldn't have happened."

We exchanged pleasantries and ended the call.

Of course, the website still has the erroneous on-time delivery date. I suspect that they do this to make their on-time stats look better.

That was fun!

Last year I bought a bicycle that doesn't piss off my shoulder, rode it a few times, then put it in a corner and ignored it. (This is, by the way, a fairly predictable behavior pattern for me.)

Tonight I tossed some air in the tires and went for a nice leisurely putter around the neighborhood. I like my 'hood at night-- it's pretty quiet, the streets are nearly devoid of traffic, but there are enough people around that it doesn't feel completely abandoned. It was fun! I should do more of that.
