Today's picnic menu
Today a sweetie and I had a picnic in Golden Gate Park, then spent the afternoon at the Cal Academy. I decided that if I was going to eat picnic food then it was going to be good, home-cooked food. Yesterday at Berkeley Bowl I bought something I never buy-- a chunk o'beast-- and spent the evening cooking. The menu:
Thinly-sliced roast beef on whole wheat torpedo rolls, with horseradish, blue cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, red leaf lettuce, and sliced red onions.
Corn and tomato salad, with home-grown basil.
Yukon Gold potato salad with truffle oil and crispy pancetta.
Bulgarian roasted peaches with cinnamon whipped cream.
Half bottle of Husch Vineyards pinot noir.
