Tonight's photography project

A friend's daughter is the lead singer/songwriter for the band EyeKnife, and they had a gig tonight. Since I had a rare free Friday night (the PLHB is out of town), I decided to swing by with the camera to see if I could get anything interesting.

Man, concert photography is HARD! The light was nearly nonexistent, and what little was there was mostly a funky red-orange-yellow color. I'd rented a 50mm f/1.4 lens, but even with the camera set to ISO 1600 and the lens WFO I could barely get the shots.

As I expected, when I got them home the color was hopeless-- there was no way at all to correct it. And they were as noisy as one would expect from the high ISO setting.

Plan B: gritty, high-contrast black & whites.
