If you're anywhere near Berkeley and you have electronics that you need to get rid of (including monitors), this is the time to do it. The Alameda County Computer Resource Center has no-fee dropoffs during December. I got rid of two old monitors today. Yay for clearing out junk.
I was craving comfort food, and I found a recipe for crock pot chicken & dumplings. It's basically chicken, onion, carrots, celery, and cream of chicken soup... toss it all in a crock pot with some water and seasonings and let it stew for a while. For the last half hour, add torn-up canned biscuits.
I'm generally not inclined towrad any recipe that calls for canned soup and biscuis, but I decided to try it. It turned out surprisingly good! If I did it again, I'd skip the soup and do a base myself, but the biscuits made decent quick & dirty dumplings. Yay food.
This morning, the FedEx fairy brought me $600 worth of camera gear-- a 580EX flash, a set of extension tubes, and a couple of small accessories. PokerStars will now let you cash in frequent player points for OneCall.com gift cards, and I'm earning $400-500 worth each month. Yay for sites that treat their players well.
