As I was standing in the boarding line, the old guy behind me struck up a conversation. It quickly moved from my employment to Indian outsourcing to Muslims. He started talking about Muslims in India and in general, in an uninformed and mildly offensive manner.
I was not amused. If they could hear him, the lovely darker-skinned women in front in line, one of which was wearing a hijab, of me probably would have been even less amused.
"Sir, I fear your discourse may offend our neighbors."
"I see your point."
And then the line started moving.
