Doing the previous shoots has been a challenge, because the lighting has always been horrendous. I keep pushing my camera to the extremes of its capabilities, then pushing a little farther, all while challenging myself to get steady shots at pretty slow shutter speeds. It's a miracle that I got any usable shots at all, but some of them have turned out quite good... if I do say so myself.
Tonight I set the camera to where I thought it should be (ISO 1600, 1/25 sec, lens wide open) and got ready to shoot, only this time we had way more light than usual. In fact, we had so much light that I didn't know what to do with it. Rather than the soft, artistic effect I'd gotten used to, I was getting crisp, clear images. ICK! I very quickly dropped the ISO down quite a bit and started getting the sorts of shots I wanted, but this is the first time in my life I've ever had too much light.
And now, sleep. Tomorrow evening I hit the road for LA.
