I was looking for something credenza-shaped to put along the interior wall of my dining room so that I could put dishes in it. I found this on Craigslist, and it wasn't quite perfect but it was close enough, reasonably priced, and the seller was willing to deliver it, so I figured it was good enough. The intention was to put it approximately where the picture is in this picture. (Note: that's not my furniture-- the picture was taken before I moved in.)
Tonight I was cleaning it and contemplating where to put it and what to put in it, it told me that it really, really wanted to be a liquor cabinet, and that it would fit perfectly into the corner between the window and the wall on the outside wall. I measured, and it's right! It's almost exactly the depth of the concrete post that's in the corner, and it's the perfect width to fit into the space.
Plus, I'll be happier knowing that the scotch collection isn't going to wind up on the floor with the next big earthquake.
The downside is that I'm still in the market for a credenza. Every cloud has a stainless lining, I guess.
