Movie poll

This is inspired by a discussion that I heard on Talk of the Nation today.

Are you planning to see Sex & the City?

Yes, and I'm male
9(11.7%)
Yes, and I'm female
7(9.1%)
No, and I'm male
38(49.4%)
No, and I'm female
20(26.0%)
What's that?
3(3.9%)

I was listening to Talk of the Nation on NPR this morning, and it was basically a bunch of men talking about how they were going to get out of seeing Sex & the City when it comes out. (Now that it's out? I don't know.) There seemed to be pretty much a universal assumption that women would be trying to drag their male partners to the movie, and the men would be trying to get out of going.

I know I'm not exactly the audience that they're aiming for with the movie, but I honestly can't imagine myself seeing it. It boggles my mind that seeing this movie would be such a universal expectation that NPR would devote a show to it.
