For reasons that have mostly to do with silliness and my own amusement, I took this photo as I walked by Borders today. Just as I finished taking the picture, and employee came to the window and gestured to me indicating that I wasn't allowed to do that.
As it turns out, he's wrong. While the store certainly has the right to prevent me from taking pictures while on their property, I have the right to photograph the exterior of commercial property from public space. In this case, I was standing on a public sidewalk. I didn't push it, because I already had the photo and getting back to the office seemed more useful than arguing with him, but I might drop by and talk to the store manager about it tomorrow.
It's largely an uninteresting photo and an uninteresting story, but I thought it was worth sharing because there are a lot of photographers on my friends list.
