This is a great article on feline body language.

Speaking of, kitten friendliness continues to improve. She'll mostly put up with me, and he's sometimes willing to come to me when I invite him over. They both like to follow me into the bathroom-- I think they're curious about all the weird noises that come from there.

Do they have names yet, or are you still getting to know them?

The bathroom is the location of the Miracle of the Swirling Waters. When Minnie was younger, she liked to get behind my butt on the seat and peer down between my cheeks. She's outgrown that, but she'll still come running to look over the side of the tub when I run a shower.

Ours will actually open the bathroom door to get in there with us, and if we close it instead of closing it over, will sit outside and yowl unhappily.

This will cause us to yell "I'm going potty, not to Narnia, there is one door to the room, I will be back in a minute" a lot. Which now has led to the household shortcut for "brb, going to the bathroom" (even when out in public) to become "brb, going to Narnia".

Have never been owned by a cat that wasn't fascinated by the loo. My first cat (Tabby) almost fell in numerous times while watching the magic of the 'swirling water', and my last cat (Jeb) did manage to fall in a couple of times, but that never ceased his mesmerization of same.

The just can't quite seem to figure out what's the deal with the water that goes away. Or they just like the show.

I always thought cats loved the bathroom because they knew they had you trapped for a few minutes. They can count on you not moving from that position for a short period of time. You are therefore their captive petting machine.

Speaking of water, I have a big ole tomcat that loves the shower. He will come in while I'm showering and sit down a few feet from the water to watch. If he gets splashed, he leaves. But he's always back the next day. And he likes to lick the water off the shower curtain too and of course, drink the water as it runs out of the faucet.
