I'm so sorry! I know it's been a while since we went to the gym. And yes, I know I've been eating badly. You see, I know we kinda tweaked our knee at the end of C25K, and I wanted to wait until it was fully recovered. I defined that as not noticing that it was cranky, and maintaining that state for a couple of weeks.
And then, as you know, I procrastinated. You've lived with me for 45 years, so you know I'm very very good at that. And then I had a cold or hay fever or something for a couple of weeks, and it didn't seem like a good idea to try to run when I couldn't breathe. I'm sure you'll agree that's totally logical and reasonable.
Body, you are absolutely right. We've been eating miserably. Last night's burger, sweet potato fries, and chocolate shake serve as a prime example. We didn't finish any of it, though, not even the shake... that's something, right?
So tonight we ran. I thought I picked a reasonable target for our re-entry into the gym world, but I guess I was wrong. At least I listened to the heart rate monitor and stopped before things got out of hand. You can grant me that, yes?
Still, I didn't realize how bad things were until we went to the grocery store on the way home from the gym. You asked for grapefruit and bananas, and I listened. But then, then... you saw the Safeway sushi and said, "Yes! That's the perfect food! Buy that and feed it to me. Now!" That was when I realized the magnitude of my errors.
So, body, I fucked up. I apologize from the bottom of my rapidly-pounding heart.
